The Retired Malawib Broadcasting Corporation Commentator, Steve Liwewe Banda has urged the tnm Super League Champions, Nyasa Big Bullets to consider signing the foreign players to improve their results in the TotalEnergies Caf Champions League.

The award-winning retired Commentator was commenting on the tremendous progress that the people's team have made in the past years.

Bullets have managed to win three Super League titles, Airtel Top 8 Cup, FDH Bank Cup and four Charity Shield Cup in the past four years and they are just one point short of claiming their fourth League title in four years.

Apart from results on the field, the financial and discipline of the team have also improved in the part years.

"It starts with sound management," he said. "This is supported by reliable Sponsorship that pumps in huge sum of money to cater for the players welfare as well as Team Officials,l."

Since Nyasa Manufacturing Company completed the take-over the Club in 2017, the team now have strong administration force with Cheif Executive Officer, Accountant, Administrative Officer that are responsible for running the affairs of the Club without interference from both external and internal forces.

"All things pertaining to finances are strictly handled by the Nyasa Manufacturing company. Their accounts section makes sure that wages and bonuses of players are paid in time to avoid demotivating of players and coaching staff.

"Nyasa Manufacturing company does not only bank-roll the senior team but also Reserve side. The two coexist as Child and parent. To them it stats with solid foundation which is a back up structure.

"The Reserve team has been a constant supply of youthful players to the senior team. This has proved to be unbreakable bind never seen before in Malawi Football," he added.

The gate revenues for the people's team have improved in recent years and a good example is when their Reserve side grossed over K10 Million in a game that they faced Blue Eagles in the FDH Bank Cup.

"The supporters have also provided the much-needed support theough patronage of their games. This has helped raise more revenue for the Club as well as visiting teams that have enjoyed Big cut of money.

"Discipline has greatly increased in the last 5 years. Their ugliest Disciplinary record was during the Airtel Top 8 against Blue Eages [in 2018]. This was after losing the final. They were slapped with one-year ban plus K2.7 million fine. Since then the Disciplinary record has greatly improved," he said.

Despite the great records in the local scene, the people's team have failed to break into the Continental Football and they have failed to go further in the tournament four times.

This season they lost 4-0 to Simba SC.

Liwewe said Nyasa Big Bullets need to consider signing foreign players to improve their results.

"Participation in CAF Competitions have exposed players. However additions from other foreign Clubs is necessary. This would help improve results. Its a tradition all over the world that Local Clubs recruit foreign players to achieve better results.

"Recruitment of an effective technical team has also played a vital role in their success. Hiring of Calisto Pasuwa & his back room staff has proved to be effective," he added.
