Bullets are just a point short of Championship: KB need to beat Hammers to finish in top 3

The defending Champions, Nyasa Big Bullets are just a point away from winning this season's tnm Super League after beating Mighty Tigers 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Mpira Stadium. 


Babatunde Adepoju converted from the spot after Chimwemwe Idana was fouled in the penalty area by Emmanuel Nyirenda before Patrick Mwaungulu nodded home Babatunde's slow ball to take the game away from the Kau-Kau Boys. 

Chimwemwe Idana rattled the post after being released into the sight of goal by Ernest Petro.

The win lifts the people's team to 64 from 27 games and they are 5 points above Blue Eagles who have 59 points from 28 games.

Nyasa Big Bullets will just need a draw against Moyale Barracks on Saturday to be officially crowned as the Champions of the 2022 TNM Super League.

Elsewhere, a win for Kamuzu Baracks over TN Stars and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers' defeat to Moyale Barracks have favoured the Chioko Boys to in their pursuit of top 4 finish. 

Juma Yatina and Martias Nyirenda were on target in Kamuzu Barracks' win while Brown Magaga inflicted pain on Mighty Mukuru Wanderers' fans that turned up to Kamuzu Stadium to cheer for the team. 

Kamuzu Barracks are on number 3 with 57 points from 29 games and they will need to beat Ekwendeni Hammers to cement their top three place.

A defeat for Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have left them with a maximum points of 59 which will be a point short if Kamuzu Barracks beat Hammers. They are currently fifth with 50 points from 27 games and they face Sable Farming in their next game.

Karonga United have now conceded 12 goals in their last 2 games after a 5-0 defeat to Mafco at Chitowe Stadium. Alexander Sikwambe scored a brace while Yohane Malunga, Richard Mbulu and Mphatso Philimon had a goal each.

The Salima based Soldiers have 49 points from 29 games on number 6 while Karonga United are on number 11 with 31 points from 28 games.
