Wanderers, Bullets back in Super League actions

Published from Blogger Prime Android App

Fresh from winning their first leg matches in the Airtel Top 8, Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers return to the Super League actions as they face Mighty Tigers at Mpira Stadium and Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium respectively.

Nyasa Big Bullets saw their 36-game unbeaten run coming to an end in their last league game at Dedza Stadium as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mafco Football Club.

The people's team hammered Tigers in the first round by 5 goals to nill.

Tigers are yet to beat Nyasa Big Bullets in their last 23 games as their last win is dated back to 2011 when they hammered the people's team by three goals to nill.

In their previous 33 meetings, Nyasa Big Bullets have won 21 games while Tigers have a record of 5 wins with 7 games ending in draws.

However, despite having a better record over the Kau-Kau Boys, Kalisto Pasuwa has cautioned his boys to be very careful when they face the Waka-Waka sponsored Club.

"The opposition we are facing has been so close in all the games they have been playing. It’s not going to be easy for us, we need to fight. It’s a team that fights for everything, so we are saying to everyone in the house to only talk after winning the game. We need to have the right mentality for us to win that game.

Bullets are leading the table with 61 points from 26 games and Blue Eagles are just two points below them but they have two games more. Pasuwa who is searching for the 4th league title with Bullets said they have no pressure on the title race.

“I think since day one, I am one person who has been talking about [taking] a game as it comes. Blue Eagles played their games and they are having their points and we are playing our games then at the end of the season, we will see who is who.

“We can’t be having any pressure. We came as far where we were having more than two to three games within the shortest period but we could come out good, so I am saying every game as it comes, we should have to concentrate on it," he added.

Tigers are on number 12 with 31 points from 29 games and they are safe from relegation chop as Rumphi, TN Stars and Sable Farming have already been relegated.

Elsewhere, Moyale Barracks are looking to bounce back to the winning ways after suffering defeats in their previous two games [Against Silver Strikers and Kamuzu Barracks] as they face the fifth-placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

Wanderers are in need of the points as theu are hunting for a second place and a win over Moyale will drag them towards the right direction of their goal.

With 50 points from 26 games, Wanderers are 9 points behind Blue Eagles who have played 28 games and they will climb to fourth place should they beat the Lions of Kaning'ina this afternoon.

A game between Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Moyale Barracks is one of the finest facades in the history of Malawian football.

Mighty Wanderers have won 15 times while Moyale Barracks have won 13 times with 13 games ending in stalemate but Nomads collected maximum points over Moyale in the first round after a 1-0 victory at Mzuzu Stadium courtesy of Chiukepo Msowoya's first-half strike.

Wanderers last completed a double over the Soldiers in 2018 after a 1-0 win in Mzuzu and a 7-2 win at Kamuzu Stadium.

In another game, Kamuzu Barracks face TN Stars at Champions Stadium. #WaMpira
